A Day in the Life

Structure, Balance, and Growth

At our young adult therapeutic program, each day is intentionally designed to provide structure, consistency, and meaningful opportunities for growth. Parents can feel confident knowing their son or daughter is engaged in a supportive, purposeful routine that balances therapy, life skills, community, and wellness.

Morning: Structure and Intention

Personal Time (6:15 AM)

Mornings begin with quiet time to journal, stretch, or prepare for the day ahead. This teaches young adults how to start their day with self-reflection and calm intention. On select days, we allow later wake-up times to reinforce the importance of rest and recovery.

Daily Routines & SMART Goals

From hygiene and breakfast prep to morning clean-up, participants practice responsibility for themselves and their shared environment. While preparing meals, they also review SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound), ensuring each day begins with clarity and purpose.

Mid-Morning: Movement and Therapeutic Work

Physical Exercise (9:00 AM)

Daily physical activity is a cornerstone of wellness. Whether it’s hiking, biking, yoga, or strength training, exercise supports mood regulation, stress reduction, and healthy routines.

Therapeutic Groups

Following exercise, participants engage in therapeutic programming designed to build emotional and practical skills:

  • Group Therapy – A guided space for self-expression, reflection, and emotional growth.

  • Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) – Focused on empathy, communication, and decision-making.

  • Independent Wellness Skills (IWS) – Practical lessons in cooking, budgeting, organization, and self-care.

  • Experiential Learning – Hikes, trail work, and service activities that reinforce teamwork and resilience.

Afternoon: Skills, Adventure, and Independence

Life Skills & Enrichment (1:30 PM)

Afternoons are devoted to experiential workshops and adventures that challenge young adults while building confidence. These may include:

  • Outdoor survival and fire skills.

  • Interactive science sessions that inspire curiosity.

  • Rock climbing or other recreational outings.

  • Weekend planning that fosters responsibility and foresight.

Wellness & Restoration

Afternoon blocks alternate between water time, yoga, group stretch, or structured downtime. Participants also take responsibility for their living spaces with deep-clean rotations. Restorative time is intentionally built in, allowing young adults to recharge, journal, or read quietly — modeling the balance between activity and rest.

Evening: Community and Reflection

Dinner & Clean-Up (5:30 PM)

Dinner is a shared responsibility and another opportunity to build independence. Participants learn meal prep, cooking, and cleaning while enjoying the community connection of sharing food together.

Honor Circle (6:30 PM)

Each evening closes with a group reflection called Honor Circle. This powerful ritual encourages gratitude, accountability, and mutual recognition, fostering empathy and a strong sense of belonging.

Evening Hygiene & Rest (8:00 PM)

Before bed, participants practice personal hygiene, enjoy quiet personal time, and prepare for a consistent bedtime routine. Lights out at 9:00 PM ensures proper rest and healthy rhythms.

Weekends:  Community, Service, and Fun

Weekends bring variety to the schedule with service projects, special activities, and outdoor adventures. These experiences encourage independence, build responsibility, and offer healthy ways to enjoy downtime.

Why Parents Trust This Structure for their Young Adults:

Every element of the day has a therapeutic purpose. From preparing meals to sharing in Honor Circle, young adults learn life skills, emotional regulation, accountability, and community living. Parents can be reassured knowing that their child is developing habits that support long-term independence while receiving the therapeutic support they need.

Parents consistently tell us that what sets our program apart is not just the schedule itself, but the intentional design behind it — and the trusted staff who bring it to life.

  • Expert, Caring Staff – Each part of the day is facilitated by licensed therapists, wellness coaches, and mentors trained specifically in young adult development. From morning routines to evening reflection, staff provide consistency, guidance, and encouragement while modeling healthy habits. Parents can feel confident knowing their child is surrounded by adults who care deeply and are skilled in creating a safe, structured environment.

  • Consistency that Builds Confidence – Young adults thrive when they know what to expect. A predictable daily flow — waking at the same time, exercising each morning, sharing meals, reflecting together — helps participants regulate their emotions, reduce anxiety, and steadily build independence.

  • Balance of Therapy and Real-Life Skills – Parents trust our structure because it’s more than just therapy sessions. Daily life here teaches practical skills like cooking, cleaning, planning, and self-care, all while reinforcing therapeutic goals. This integration ensures that progress in therapy is mirrored by progress in everyday living.

  • Community and Accountability – Shared meals, group work, and Honor Circle teach young adults how to live respectfully with others while building empathy and responsibility. Parents know their child is not only supported by staff, but also by a community of peers working toward similar goals.

  • Proven Outcomes – Families who complete our program consistently report seeing their young adults return home with greater maturity, independence, and confidence.
